RESIST TECHNIQUES

Variation 1:

Trace in the photocopied picture outline with crayon.
Thick lines work best.
Brush over the whole page with thin paint. Only use one color.

Color the majority of the picture with crayon. Leave some areas white.
Brush within the whole page with thin paint. Only use one color.

Variation 3:

Draw in the lines with crayon.
Paint the photo with a variety of colors.
The crayon lines could make the image better to paint.

They will minimize edges bleeding into the other.

Variation 4:

This is not a resist yet it’s a fantastic extension in the previous activities.
Paint the image with watercolors.
When the paint is dry, use crayons to add detail and depth of color.

RUBBING TECHNIQUES

Variation 1:

Rip off a smaller small note which is concerning the size a matchbox.
Use a crayon to scribble thickly on top of the paper.

Variation 2:
